She looks in the mirror and what does she see?
A beautiful young girl still reliving the past.
It was never her fault, but silent she must be.
Or was it her fault and never admit to failure?
She looks with nervousness at those who remind
Of what happened to her on that horrible day,
Having feelings of hate and apprehension combined.
For who was there to help when she cried?

She built up her courage and pronounced with pride:
“I have been hurt, I have been cut down.
Through evil, I admit, I have been mortified.
But you I can trust,” she said to her friend,
“Because of you, I know I can maybe get through.
If only you can understand how I feel.”
Her friend looked at her without a clue
And hugged her tightly as she whispered “I’ll try.”

If ever you find you are in need of a friend;
I will always be there.
If ever you are hurt and need someone to defend;
I will always be there.
If ever a companion does you wrong;
I will always be there.
Through pain and tears, trials and fears;
No matter what, I will always be there.
- to the one who has stood by me, know I will always stand by you.
